New technology for old applications;
Modern-day Retro.

Nowadays, repairing and maintaining things is becoming ever more difficult.

Take oldtimer vehicles, for example: A lot of parts are becoming hard to come by, or are simply not available at all anymore. This means that sometimes perfectly good cars are scrapped where they would not have had to be if the necessary parts were still available.
This is not only true for oldtimer cars or motorcycles, but also for many products in our daily lives. They might actually continue to be of use if we are able to repair them and give them a second life.

I started 8TrackDesign from this standpoint. Owning a Volvo 480 which suffers from these same problems made me realise  that with modern day technology it would be more than possible to not only reverse engineer and reproduce parts which are no longer available, but also improve them. The last decade has seen a massive increase in material variety and the production- and computer technology required to be able to accurately reverse engineer an old part.

Several years of experience with small scale production of cost-effective prototypes and parts enables me to find a fitting solution to a wide variety of requests. From a 3D scan of a part to have it digitalised, advice on feasibility of (re)production of a part, or small-scale (re)producing of a part or prototype from start to finish.
